Silvergence is the online presence for jewelry designs by Karen Del Pellegrino. Combining ancient silversmith techniques with 21st century technological advances allows her to uniquely handcraft one-of-a-kind art jewelry using semi-precious gems and fine metals. Her technique of intimately mingling the modern and the ancient into an integrated whole produces bold yet harmonious effects that deviate from standard jewelry design.

Divergence by definition is a deviation from a course or standard and I admit some of my favorite pieces are far from standard. I’ve worked with fossilized shark teeth, geodes, Fimo, Envirotex, copper & brass parts from the hardware store as well as pure silver and gemstones. Big, bold & brash is my esthetic; I simply don’t do ‘dainty’. As long as I keep receiving compliments when I wear one of my creations in public, I’ll continue to design in my natural voice. My most refined pieces currently are my 3D prints and as I become more proficient with that genre I’ll be pushing the envelope there also.
